OUR STORY
In the summer of 2020, we wanted to address a silent problem within the UIUC campus, food insecurity. The problem is widespread yet hidden. The effects of food insecurity infiltrate many aspects of students’ wellbeing. We have designed a workshops, educational outreach programs through social media, and online training to reduce the stigma behind food insecurity. We are committed to helping students in a confidential way to ensure the do not go hungry every day.
OUR MISSION
We believe in a community that is dedicated to securing food for students at University of Illinois. Our mission is to use research-based evidence to acquire knowledge, implement actions, and facilitate discussions to decrease the presence of food insecurity in our community. Through educational workshops and providing necessary resources to students, we hope to reduce the stigma behind food insecurity and empower students for a successful college experience and career.
